Person Street Partners Announces Addition of Brannen Blazer as a Partner
RALEIGH, NC, March 6, 2026 -- Person Street Partners announced that Brannen Blazer has joined the firm as a Partner, effective today. In this role, Brannen will focus on building and scaling the firm’s small balance university housing strategy, as well as leading capital formation initiatives.
“Opportunities to build a great business alongside great people are rare. Joining the Person Street team is one of those moments for me, and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Griffin, Jake, and Poojan. The future is bright for this team, and I’m grateful to be part of it,” said Brannen.
At Person Street, Brannen will play a key role in advancing the firm’s focus on small balance housing in dynamic U.S. university markets. The strategy targets well-located and differentiated housing assets in a highly fragmented segment of the market with predominately non-institutional ownership. These assets typically benefit from durable university-affiliated consumer demand, limited like-kind supply, and strong long term market fundamentals anchored by the nation’s top universities, hospitals and research facilities.
“Brannen embodies the principles that have shaped Person Street from day one. He shares our long-term mindset and commitment to disciplined execution, and we’re excited to welcome him as we continue to build the firm,” said Poojan Mehta, Co-Founder and Partner at Person Street.
Brannen brings extensive experience across single-family rental, real estate private equity, and institutional capital markets. Prior to joining Person Street Partners, he served as Executive Director of Private Equity at The Amherst Group in Austin, TX, where he focused on investment management, capital raising, and strategic initiatives across Amherst’s $15 billion single-family rental platform.
Before Amherst, Brannen was a Vice President in Morgan Stanley’s Real Estate Investment Banking Group in New York where he advised large institutional real estate owners on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions.
Over the course of his career, Brannen has executed more than $30 billion of real estate acquisitions, capital placements, and M&A transactions across multiple asset classes.
Brannen is a native of Aiken, SC, and currently resides in Charlottesville, VA, with his wife, Ashley, and two children, Ruby June (5) and Lake (3). He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he was a Dean’s Fellow and recipient of the Edward and Vicki Fritsch Real Estate Fellowship.
